- music for the distant world -

The Citadel opens its gates again. Five years after the release of STORMKEEP’s highly acclaimed debut album "Tales of Othertime", the Coloradian quartet returns with the new single track "Carnal Tapestries of Nailtorn Flesh", offering a first glimpse into a new chapter of their singular mythos. Since their emergence with the underground mini-LP "Galdrum", STORMKEEP have cultivated a sound rooted in the grand tradition of symphonic black metal, shaped equally by medieval mysticism, fantastical storytelling, and an unmistakable sense of atmosphere.
With "Tales of Othertime", the band established themselves as distinct voices within contemporary black metal, drawing on the regal sweep of EMPEROR, the melodic sensibility of COVENANT and DIMMU BORGIR, and a cold, Lunar Aurorian ferocity all their own. Their music evokes a world of ensorcelled vasts, magical deeps, and forgotten dungeons permeated by spellcraft, without ever losing sight of the force and discipline that underpin their songwriting.
On "Carnal Tapestries of Nailtorn Flesh", STORMKEEP expand that vision further. The song continues the band’s exploration of symphonic black metal as a vessel for grandeur, menace, and all-encompassing world-building, balancing ornate melody with sharpened aggression and a deep reverence for the genre’s lineage. Rather than merely revisiting the aesthetics of an earlier era, STORMKEEP channel them into something vivid and transportive: music that feels both steeped in tradition and alive with new purpose.
