HELGA

HELGA are a Swedish-British quintet fronted by Helga Gabriel, working at the intersection of ethereal progressive metal, folk-induced post-rock, and dark pop. Brought together in York in 2019, with roots in Dalarna and Halifax, the band introduced a distinctive musical world on their 2023 debut "Wrapped in Mist" — one shaped by atmosphere, melody, and emotional depth rather than convention alone. Their songs draw on folklore, memory, mortality, and the natural world, moving from moments of stillness and introspection to sweeping, luminous intensity. With Vesperian as their new label home and new material currently taking shape, HELGA enter their next chapter with a sound that feels both deeply personal and quietly expansive.
